Instructions

Step 1: After deciding where to put your new mailbox hole it’s time to dig a hole! I used a one man auger to make it really really easy. You can rent one for a couple hours from Home Depot. If you want to do it manually, you could use something called a post-hole digger. Google recommends digging 18-24in down.

Step 2:

Grab the mail box post and place that in the hole. I used a metal one because I thought that would be stronger and less likely to rot. You will also need a level to make sure this is standing straight up when you pour in the concrete.

Step 3:

Once you have the post in the hole, grab your bag of concrete and pour it into the hole. Honestly it’s that easy lol.

I would recommend wearing a mask because you don’t want to breathe in the concrete dust and its dustyyyyy when you start pouring that in the hole.

Use your level to make sure the post is standing straight up and down.

Step 4:

Add water to the concrete. My hose didn’t reach all the way out here so I filled up a bucket to carry it over, but I just put a little bit in at a time and waited for the water to sink down and then more water and repeat!

Use your level to make sure the post is standing up the whole time while it’s drying. It dries pretty quick!

TIP: Leave a couple inches of room so you can put some dirt over the concrete to hide it.

Step 5:

Once it’s all dry attach your mailbox (it comes with some bolts!)

TADA! Honestly so easy you’ve got this!
